Best! Directions & Quick Tips

The best part? You’re in control. Position your magnetic skin exactly how you like it.

Magnetic skins apply instantly, remove easily, and can be repositioned anytime. They’re smudge-resistant and clean up with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth.

Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads—they can damage the finish.

Before You Start

  • Clean your appliance thoroughly—no dirt, dust, or grease. For best results, have a second person help with alignment.

Installation Steps

1. Prep Your Surface
  • Ensure your refrigerator or dishwasher is clean and dry.
  • Appliance logos can be gently removed (use a cloth to protect the surface). Reapply them to the skin—or leave them off for a cleaner look.
2. Handle Options
  • Refrigerators: Handles can often be removed for easier install and trimming.
  • Dishwashers: Handles are usually fixed—plan to trim around them.
3. Unroll & Relax the Skin
  • Remove from the tube and let it rest flat until pliable (especially in colder temps).
  • Do not bend or roll inside-out—this can damage the material.
4. Position the Skin
  • Place directly onto the appliance or lay flat on a clean surface to prep.
5. Trim to Fit
  • Trim while the skin is on the appliance for the most accurate fit.
  • Use the appliance edge as your guide—no straightedge required (though you can use one if preferred).
Tip: Apply masking tape along edges to prevent accidental scratches.
6. Side Panels (Refrigerators)
  • Position Best! Appliance Skin, let excess hang over the edge, then trim cleanly using the appliance edge as your guide. You can use blue painter's tape on the appliance if you're worried about marring it.
  • Alternate Cutting Method
Create a paper or cardboard template:
Trace appliance shape, handles, and openings. Cut template and transfer to the skin. Trim accordingly. Measure twice. Cut once.

Edges & Finishing

NOTE: Magnetic skins conform to gentle curves— not sharp 90° edges.

For edges:

  • Lightly bend and warm with a hair dryer if needed.
  • Use double-sided tape if adhesion is weak or apply trimmed strips for a seamless look.

No extra material?

Use matching spray paint or decorative tape to blend edges.

Dishwasher Coverage Note

Dishwasher skins are 24" wide and designed for the front panel only — not edges.

Pro Tips

Keep both the appliance and skin dust-free during install to prevent “imprinting” (small bumps).

If imprinting occurs: remove, clean both surfaces, and reapply.

Want a custom look?

Spray paint handles or recessed areas to match or contrast your design.
